Spend 20 minutes helping your community and you could win $500.
Volunteer20* is a special initiative sponsored by CONTACT Community Services to have residents of the Greater Syracuse area spend 20 minutes helping CONTACT, United Way of Central New York and other not-for-profit community agencies by completing a confidential survey about giving time to help others. Study participants (must be residents of the Greater Syracuse area age 21 or older) who complete the survey can enter a drawing** to win $500 for themselves or one charity or other non-profit of their choice.***

  • The winner of the $500 drawing will be determined at the end of April 2005. Feel free to check back at this site for an update, or call the research firm of Vincent McCabe, Inc., which is running the confidential study, at 315-685-7227.

Your 20 minutes of time, combined with the 20 minutes given by other residents throughout the Greater Syracuse area, will have a cumulative impact resulting in a tremendous amount of data to help CONTACT Community Services, United Way of Central New York and other not-for-profits assist others through their services.

*For this research study, volunteering is defined as any unpaid time spent helping people outside of your household and family, or unpaid time spent assisting organizations. All individual survey responses are confidential; final report data will be presented collectively and using statistical totals. Participation in the study does not constitute obligation to undergo training or volunteer with CONTACT Community Services.
**Only one entry per person; only residents of the Greater Syracuse area age 21 or older are eligible to participate in the study and enter the drawing. Opportunity to enter the drawing is offered upon completion of the survey. Odds of winning depend on number of entrants. Survey data collection and the offer for entering the drawing both end when the study reaches its quota for participants, which is expected to be in April 2005. The $500 for the drawing is courtesy of Vincent McCabe, Inc.
***Winner will select option ($500 for themselves or one charity or other non-profit of their choice) after drawing is conducted.
